This is because you will soon burn out, and when you do, your staff will not have the faintest idea how to carry on the business. How can they when you’ve never shown them what to do?

While money in a small business may be tight, it is a wise owner who will still put some aside to develop both staff and self to make the business more efficient. This will motivate your team to increase their efficiency. Procrastinating, allowing constant interruptions, and acting reactively instead of planning what you will do each day are all habits of the unsuccessful too. So is refusing to change when you see the need for it. Training your staff to multi-task will not only keep them from boredom but make sure that there is someone who can get the job done no matter who is away.

Lack of communication is another habit of unsuccessful business owners. Communication with both staff and customers needs to be pursued. In this way, you can implement good ideas and make both feel like you value their input.
